Proceed carefully.” Bartholomew’s eyes lit up with the reckless curiosity that had gotten him banned from every pub in town. “A simulation, you say?” he muttered, rubbing his hands together. “Does this mean I can hack it?” Without waiting for an answer, he stomped on the glowing tiles and screamed, “CONTROL-ALT-DELETE!” The voice hesitated. “Please refrain from—” “GIVE ME GOD MODE!” Bartholomew roared, leaping into the air with the grace of a drunken swan. The forest around him flickered violently. Trees burst into clouds of ones and zeroes, animals pixelated and glitched into the sky, and a rabbit exploded into what looked like a cascade of badly written JavaScript. The voice, now less calm, shouted, “Bartholomew, STOP!” But Bartholomew was too far gone. “I WANT A DRAGON! NO, A MECH SUIT! GIVE ME LASERS FOR HANDS!” he yelled, spinning in circles as the digital grid cracked beneath him. The world warped and folded, a massive red warning sign flashing above his head: “SYSTEM ERROR: REALITY CORRUPTED.” The voice, now outright panicking, screamed, “Do you realize what you’ve done?” Bartholomew smirked, crossing his arms. “Yeah. I broke the game. Now give me my dragon.” The universe groaned, crumbled, and went pitch black. In the infinite void, Bartholomew’s voice echoed, triumphant and unapologetic, “Totally worth it.”
